Monday, February 12, 2024, the Director General of the National Library of Jordan, Dr. Nidal Al-Ayasrah, received a delegation from the National Library of Palestine, accompanied by the Director General of Archives and Documentation at the National Library of Palestine, Mr. Fawaz Salama, to hold a specialized and practical course for a number of employees of the National Library of Palestine, in order to prepare and qualify the employees on the processes of: indexing, classifying, depositing and archiving documents and how to preserve them, note that the Palestinian library is newly established. This came as an embodiment of the memorandum of cooperation that was signed between the two libraries, which included cooperation in the fields of preparing and qualifying job cadres in the National library of Palestine.
Dr. Al-Ayasrah welcomed the delegation and expressed the depth of Jordanian-Palestinian relations, he also referred to the memorandum of understanding that was signed at the beginning of this year between the National Library of Jordan and the National Library of Palestine, and provided an introductory overview of the library, its origins, development, the tasks it carries out, and the developments it has witnessed. Mr. Salama expressed his thanks to the National Library of Jordan and said that the reason for choosing it was its general director and his complete willingness to provide any services to the NLP team, not to mention the administrative, technical, and logistical renaissance of the Jordanian Library and the common history between Jordan and Palestine
At the end of the meeting, an introductory video was shown about the tasks and roles of the National Library, and the delegation was taken on an introductory tour of the library’s directorates and departments.
