The National Library of Palestine announces the launch of The National Library of Palestine Research and Studies Award, second edition 2024/2025, titled:
"Documenting Cultural Destruction caused by the Zionist genocide against the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023: The Conflict over Identity, Memory and the Violation of International Laws."
This documentation encompasses tangible and intangible heritage, private and public archives, libraries, museums, theaters, heritage and historical sites, mosques and churches, cemeteries, universities and schools, cultural and artistic institutions, centers for handicraft heritage artifacts, and more.
Submission rules:
- The applicant must be Palestinian and reside either within Palestine or abroad.
- The submitted work must exhibit distinction, originality, innovation, and a significant contribution to its specialized field.
- The work must not have been previously published in any printed or electronic format.
- The work must not have been presented at seminars, conferences, study days, or similar events.
- The work must not have been submitted as part of any academic degree (Master’s, Ph.D., or postdoctoral studies) and must be prepared specifically for this award.
- The work must not have received any prior awards, whether local, Arab, or international.
- The work must not be less than 10,000 words and not exceed 15,000 words.
- The work must adhere to academic, methodological, and scientific standards for documentation and citation.
- The work must respect research ethics, field research codes, and ensure the confidentiality and privacy of subjects, especially in cases involving field research or interviews.
- Collaborative submissions are permitted, provided that the number of contributors does not exceed three.
- The work must be professionally edited and proofread linguistically and grammatically and submitted exclusively via email. The research must be sent to the designated award email address: NLP.Award2024@NLP.ps.
- The participant must attach the work along with a CV, which should include a personal photo, personal address, personal phone number, and a personal declaration that the work has been submitted solely for this award and not to any other entity.
- The committee will not review any work that fails to meet the participation requirements or is submitted after the deadline. Submissions will not be returned to their authors.
About the award:
- The first winner receives a prize of 3000 USD.
- The second winner receives a prize of 2000 USD.
- The third winner receives a prize of 1500 USD.

The final date for the submission of research papers is Thursday, May 1, 2025.
