The Israeli occupation's aggression and genocide in Gaza continues with a deliberate destruction and targeting of Palestine's national heritage.
The latest crime it committed was destroying Al-Omari mosque in Gaza City, with a courtyard measuring 1190 square metres. This mosque, is considered one of the most important archaeological and religious sites in the Gaza Strip, since it is linked to thousands of years of history. It was founded first as Byzantine monastery in the fifth century AD and then turned into a mosque to be part of the Palestinian culture, it is a witness on how the Palestinian people connected to their land.
This is another crime among other crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, as it previously destroyed a group of archaeological sites and landmarks, such as the old port of Gaza, Porphyrius church, Jabalia mosque and much more historical buildings, museums and others.
