Overview
The National Library of Palestine serves as the central repository of Palestinian culture and identity and as a platform that affirms Palestine’s presence among nations. It functions as a national institution dedicated to collecting, preserving, documenting, publishing, and disseminating Palestinian intellectual and cultural production in all its creative forms—manuscript, print, audio, and visual. The Library safeguards, promotes, and transmits the cultural contributions of the Palestinian people across generations.

To elevate Palestinian intellectual and cultural production to a distinguished position within the global civilizational and humanitarian sphere, earning recognition internationally at both the public and official levels.
Mission
Recognizing that Palestinian intellectual and cultural heritage constitutes an integral part of human creativity and contributes to global cultural development, the National Library of Palestine is committed to preserving, protecting, and promoting this heritage through professional stewardship and effective international engagement.
Objectives
· To collect, preserve, document, and promote Palestinian intellectual and cultural heritage and production.
· To provide access to Palestinian intellectual and cultural heritage for the benefit of the Palestinian people and the wider global community.
· To serve as the official national reference authority for information related to Palestinian heritage, identity, and diverse forms of intellectual and cultural production.
Legal Foundation
The National Library of Palestine was established pursuant to Presidential Decree No. (6) of 2019, issued by H.E. President Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, on 5 June 2019.
